I found some of the cutest girl”s sundress patterns where the yoke is made completely on the embroidery machine, and then fabric gathered and attached for the skirt. It can be made so many different ways by adding ruffles, lace etc. to the skirt. The yokes are joined at the shoulder with laces through eyelets made when the yoke is embroidered.
I made two almost identical versions for my dentist”s daughters who are ages 3 and 5. The fabric was 2 patterns from I believe Riley Blake that matched each other, the yokes out of a stripe that matched the floral of the skirts. Gathered eyelet was added under the ruffle at the bottom. They turned out incredibly adorable. I think you will agree.
Since the original ones, I have made a few more in various prints. They are so easy and cute, I plan to make many more.
